Samuel is a purebred Golden Retriever. Our volunteers stepped up for Samuel when we were contacted by an out-of-state shelter where Samuel found himself -- alone, abandoned and down on this luck. Now that he is here, Samuel is looking for an especially loving home for lots of TLC, which he will return ten times over to you!
Mr. Samuel is a gentleman, sweet as can be and sooooo happy to be in Colorado with his loving foster family, who reports, "Sam is a sweet and gentle soul. He has fit into our family so beautifully. He is kind to the dogs and totally mesmerized by the kitties. He just stares at them as if he has no idea what kitties are and has never bothered them!
Samuel quickly discovered the comfy dog beds. And he sure appreciates comfort. Got to say, no matter what is going on, Samuel never stops wagging his tail and reaching out to you for love and pets. He is a very special 6 - 8 year old gentleman who deserves a very special family."
Samuel is being treated, totally at GRFR's cost, for Heartworm on the new "slow kill protocol" with 30 days of doxycycline then 60 days off, then another 30days of doxycycline. Samuel will take a monthly HW preventative monthly for life. He will be re-tested in mid-May 2012. He does need to be kept fairly quiet until the re-test in May...ie: leash walks only. No dog park, hikes or jogging. "Sounds good to me. I love leash walks best of all."
