Nigal...what a regal name for a handsome young Golden mix boy! He is proud, funny and most of all a fighter with an amazing spirit! He is truly our miracle puppy! He is about 4 months old now and loving life!
This young boy had a rough start to life and spent several days in ICU being treated for parvo, pneumonia and distemper. Several times each day his foster parents visited him there and finally the day arrived when he could go home!
Now that Nigal is feeling better, he runs around the yard, rolling in the snow, tumbling up and down snowbanks with his foster siblings. He loves to chase a tennis ball and if his foster sister gets it first he chases her round and round the yard playfully! Nigal also loves to hunt for pine cones and will bury his head deep in the snow and wiggle around until he finds one. Then he trots along, proudly carrying his prize. Nigal has so much personality, is confident and like most puppies, he is way too curious for his own good! He has been busy redecorating by dragging throw pillows, shoes, and cat toys all over the house. He hasn't chewed anything inappropriate but his new family will want to be sure there are lots of healthy chewies and puppy-safe toys around for him to play with.
Nigal can wrap anyone around his little blonde paw quickly so watch out! Once you meet him you'll love him forever!
He loves being with his 4 foster siblings(aged 4-12 years old) and is good around the cats. Nigal has had some young neighbors visit him, aged 5-7 and has been good with the kids. He's already house trained and will bark at the door when he needs to go out. When he does his business outside he wags his tail and seems so proud of himself! Nigal also has learned to SIT for treats, and enjoys his leash walks - he does not have all 3 of his puppy shots so he can't leave the property at his foster home but lucky for him they have a big yard to play in and lots of room for walks.
Nigal loves to cuddle and give little puppy kisses! He's content to curl up on a nearby lap and sometimes he even sleeps with his foster parents. He has been crate-trained but since he sleeps all night through he's been able to sleep outside out of his crate. He'll wake you up when he needs to go out in the morning(usually early and with a puppy you've got to move fast:)!
Although he's doing much better, he is still on Medical Hold, until we get the ok from the vets to find him a perfect forever home. However, if you're interested in learning more about Nigal let us know so we can pass the information to his foster parents.
Please remember that GRFR adopts puppies only to forever homes who have someone home during the day to socialize, house train and nurture their new puppy. Puppies need to be let outside to relieve themselves at least every hour for their age by month. Please consider a more mature Golden if you do not have the at-home time for a GRFR puppy.
The adoption fee for each puppy is $250 and the following appointments will be covered if they are done at our vet. GRFR will cover the rabies shot at sixteen weeks and the spay/neuter surgery at 5-6 months. The adopter will be contacted by our Vet Coordinator when the time is near.
GRFR has a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit for all dogs that have not been altered at time of adoption. The applicant that adopt a puppy will be required to pay the $100 deposit. Once GRFR has confirmation of the neuter, the deposit will be refunded.
